Masjid Suqya (مسجد السقيا) (Mad_14)

Located near the old Hijaz Railway Station, this masjid marks the site where the Prophet Muhammad (ï·º) prayed before departing for the Battle of Badr. It stood on land owned by Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (r.a.). It was here that the Prophet (ï·º) declared Madinah as a Haram (sanctuary) like Makkah and prayed for double blessings upon its land and provisions, following the example of Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام). The headcount of the Muslim army before the Battle of Badr was also conducted at this site.
